Next Friday on 5 September, we are happy to host an initiative by @annediestelkamp!
On September 5, we’ll gather in the garden of 4Siblings to read from 'The Honorable Harvest‘ and other chapters of Robin Wall Kimmerer’s 'Braiding Sweetgrass'. Texts will be provided on site; no preparation necessary. Together, among the garden’s corn, beans, and pumpkins, we’ll reflect on reciprocity, abundance, and the ethics of respectful harvest.
This is the first meeting of The Perennial Reading Group, a nomadic, ongoing gathering for those drawn to sharing plant wisdom—eco-feminists, gardeners, cross-pollinators, and all who feel kinship with the more-than-human world. We come together to read books that sharpen and expand these commitments. The Perennial Reading Group meets up irregularly and unpredictably. Initiated and hosted by Anne Diestelkamp.
On that date, before, during and after the reading we will continue our usual garden gathering time. Taking part in the reading is optional. You can always pass by to join one of the activities or just visit. Address is President Allendelaan 3, next to the Sloterparkbad. You can find us after passing through the gates of Buurtwerkplaats Noorderhof who kindly hosts us. We will provide tea, water and snacks. Due to many thistles and nettles present on the terrein, we recommend closed shoes.
To sign up to the reading group, please just write your name in the sheet that is linked below.
